Neofinetia falcata

Late March 2015.  Purchased this on my second visit to the Flower Show this year. Originally called a neofinetia but now a vanda - possibly a Vanda Lou Sneary x Vanda coerulea.  Has the same amazing fragrance as the white one!

Phalaenopsis Orchids in spike

Late April 2015. The pink Phal has finally opened its first flower!

It seems like all the spikes are taking a long time mature - perhaps because the weather has actually remianed quite cool.

The colour of this Phal varies quite a lot (probably due to the temperature).  This is a picture of the flowers from 2 years ago - very different colouring!

Early March 2015
.  Many of my phals have spikes this year!  I think I am finally beginning to understand how to grow phals after killing SO many of them.  I realise that I have probably often packed them with too much sphagnum moss when repotting - thus suffocating their roots... I assumed this is what you were supposed to do as they always come like that when you buy them...

My large pink Phal which has survived a number of years with me and has always produced amazing multi-branched spikes, nearly died last year partly because I didn't repot it soon enough (I think) and partly due to damp rot.  But it seems to have bounced back very quickly and has just rewarded me with a lovely new strong spike...

Large Pink Phal with one spike - has recovered extremely well from nearly dying last year

One of 2 yellow phals in spike

Small (Taiwanese?) pink Phal with one small spike

Two spikes on this one - Don't remember what colour this one is - possibly white

Downward growing Cattelya?

Early March 2015.  This cattleya is producing another large shoot.

No ID Cattelya - Pale Pink

Mid April 2015.  Very pleased to see that a spike is appearing...
